Anyone can become a RoundRobin tester — no application or approval needed. Here's the complete step-by-step guide to getting started and earning credits.
Step 1: Create a free account
- Go to the RoundRobin sign-up page.
- Enter your email and create a password, or sign up with Google.
- Verify your email if prompted.
That's it — you're in. No resume, no application, no waiting period.
Step 2: Browse live tests
Head to the Live Tests board (accessible from the navbar or at /browse). You'll see all tests currently accepting testers.
Each test card shows:
- Test title and description — what the founder wants to learn.
- Test type — how many questions and how long it'll take.
- Reward — how many credits you'll earn.
- Device type — whether you need desktop or mobile.
Pick a test that interests you. You're more likely to give good feedback on something you genuinely engage with.
Step 3: Review the test landing page
Before you start, read the test landing page carefully. It explains:
- The scenario — what you should imagine or try to do.
- The test flow — what instructions and questions you'll encounter.
- The reward — what you'll earn if your feedback is approved.
- Any requirements — device type, screen recording, etc.
Make sure you understand what's being asked before you commit. If the test doesn't interest you or you don't meet the requirements, find a different one.
Step 4: Start the test
Click Take this test. You'll go through a consent and setup process:
- Consent screen — review what will be recorded (your screen and voice) and acknowledge that you understand.
- System check — grant screen and microphone permissions. Make sure your mic is working and your screen is visible.
- Test start — the recording begins and your test flow opens.
Important: Do not close or refresh the tab during the test. Your recording could be lost.
Step 5: Give your feedback
Follow the test flow — instructions and questions will appear in sequence. Here's how to give great feedback:
- Narrate everything. Say what you're thinking, what you expect, and what confuses you. Your narration is the most valuable part.
- Be honest. If something is confusing, say so. Founders need real feedback, not compliments.
- Take your time. Rushed feedback is low-quality feedback. Engage with the site genuinely.
- Stay on task. Answer the questions asked. Save unrelated thoughts for the wrap-up.

Step 6: Submit your response
When you've completed all blocks in the test flow, submit your response. Your video, transcript, and written answers are saved and sent to the test creator for review.
Step 7: Get approved and earn credits
The test creator will review your response and either approve, reject, or request more detail. Here's what each means:
- Approved — your feedback was thoughtful and complete. Credits are automatically added to your account. You'll get a notification.
- Rejected — your feedback was too thin or off-topic. No credits earned. Review the tips article and try again on another test.
- Needs more — your feedback has potential but is incomplete. You can revise and resubmit for another chance at approval.
Step 8: Use your credits
Once you've earned credits, you can:
- Run your own tests — use credits to get feedback on your own website or landing page.
- Save them — earned credits expire after 12 months, so plan to use them.
Check your credit balance anytime from the navbar or your tester dashboard.
Building your reputation
Every approved response builds your reputation score. A higher reputation means:
- You're more likely to be selected for invite-only or private tests.
- Creators may seek you out for future tests.
- You may qualify for specialty tags that match you with relevant tests.
Consistency is key — give thoughtful feedback on every test, and your reputation will grow naturally.
