How RoundRobin Works

RoundRobin follows a simple four-step flow: create, share, collect, and learn. Here's exactly what happens at each stage.

Step 1: Create a test

This is where you tell RoundRobin what you want to learn. Here's what you'll configure:

1. Choose a test type — from a quick Pulse Check (1 tester, 1 credit) to a Deep Dive (7 testers, up to 30 credits). The type determines how many testers and how many credits it costs.
2. Enter your URL — the page testers will visit. It must be live and accessible.
3. Write a scenario — describe what testers should imagine or try to do. Example: "You're considering signing up for a meal prep service. Explore the homepage and see if you understand what's offered."
4. Build your test flow — add instructions and questions in the order you want testers to experience them. You can mix instructions ("Spend 30 seconds looking around") with questions ("What do you think this product does?").
5. Set a reward — choose how to compensate testers. Test credits are the most common and keep the exchange going.
6. Publish — RoundRobin generates a landing page for your test and gives you a shareable link.

When you publish, the credit cost is deducted from your account. You can pause or cancel a test at any time.

Step 2: Share your test

Every test gets a unique shareable link. You control who sees it via the visibility setting:

• Public — anyone with the link can take it. Also appears on the community board.
• Community — listed on the Live Tests board for all RoundRobin users.
• Private — only people with the exact link can take it. Not listed anywhere.
• Invite-only — only specific invited users can take it.

You can also share your test link on social media, in newsletters, or directly with friends and colleagues. Each test has generated social posts (professional, friendly, and community tone) you can copy and paste.

Step 3: Collect feedback

When a tester opens your test link, here's what happens:

1. They see your test landing page — this explains the scenario, what they'll do, and what they'll earn.
2. They consent and start recording — their screen and microphone are captured as they navigate your site.
3. They follow your test flow — instructions and questions appear in sequence. They narrate their thoughts out loud as they go.
4. They submit their response — the video, transcript, and written answers are saved to your test.

You'll see responses appear in your test dashboard as they come in. Each response has a status: started, submitted, approved, rejected, or needs more.

Step 4: Review insights

Once you have responses, you can:

1. Watch individual recordings — see each tester's full video, transcript, and written answers.
2. Generate an insights report — RoundRobin's AI synthesizes all responses into a single report. This includes:
   • A top insight (the single most important takeaway)
   • A clarity score with explanation
   • Key findings with evidence and confidence levels
   • Best quotes (exact and paraphrased)
   • A prioritized fix roadmap (by impact vs. effort)
   • Concrete copy suggestions
   • Recommended next test
3. Approve quality responses — this rewards testers with credits and keeps the exchange healthy.

Then iterate

One test rarely gives you all the answers. The recommended workflow is:

1. Run a test.
2. Read the insights report.
3. Make changes based on the fix roadmap.
4. Run another test to see if things improved.

Each cycle sharpens your site. Over time, you build a clearer and clearer picture of what works and what doesn't.
